Here's what I see the Nationals doing, maybe I'm crazy, but as bad as I want Teixeira, I think it's a bit of a reach with the other big spenders out there waiting to outbid us (NYY, Boston, LAA, and even Baltimore). So, I think we actually make a huge splash in another way. First, we sign Manny Ramirez, a move I talked about a while ago, even though we'd have to badly overpay him and he wouldn't be that effective in the long-run, he is a huge name, a huge draw, and for the short-term he makes us legitimate. Now, this creates a log jam in the outfield, so what do the Nationals do with all their pieces out there? Here's my prediction. The Nationals will deal Lastings Milledge, John Lannan, and a player to be named later in exchange for a huge power bat in Milwaukee by the name of Prince Fielder to play first base. Imagine this.
C- Flores

1B- Fielder
2B- Hernandez
SS- Guzman
3B- Zimmerman
LF- Ramirez
CF- Dukes
RF- Willingham/Kearns
There are four guys on that list with 30 HR power, plus Flores and Willingham who can hit 20-25 bombs. Talk about a different lineup than last season.
You can say I'm on drugs, and maybe I'm way off, but it's my prediction.
